This design showcases the extreme “wrap” and “rake” made possible by Oakley technology. “Wrap” is the side-to-side curvature of lenses; “rake” is the up-and-down curvature. The 8.75-base curvature of FIVES is made possible with XYZ Optics®, our way of ensuring vision stays sharp across the entire lens contour. Findings: The new Fives are bigger and glossier than the old Fives. This pair in Gloss Black has served me well, even though I found the Fives 1.0 they were supposed to replace. They’re doing great except for a few irritatingly placed scratches on the lens. Can’t justify the Gascans I want since I have two pair of good Fives. So, I’ll keep on using them and maybe send the lenses for replacement.
