Findings: Mountain Hardwear Windstopper Tech Vest – I cheesed and bought a cheap Fred Meyer fleece vest, before really thinking about it. Big mistake. Not only was it not cut for layering, it had to have about three inches removed from either side just to fit. Cheap item issues like that is never a problem with Mountain Hardwear. Their designs are well thought out and functional. The Windstopper Tech Vest works as advertised, blocking wind and retaining core heat. The fit is perfect for layering, that is, it fits closely without being restrictive. No excess bulk, and tightens with the drawcord on the waist. Two zip hand pockets, one external zip chest pocket, and one internal zip pocket means plenty of storage.
