Findings: Sometimes the best tech is low tech. No batteries to burn out or get too cold to work. Just a nice soft glow. These lanterns are a little bit heavy, but really quite reliable. I do worry about the glass breaking–I don’t have the little lantern cozy they sell, but so far, it is still intact. The candles last a very long time and 1 or 2 lanterns lights a public use cabin nicely. I still bring out my headlamp, but for ambient light, these are the best.
