SKI SCHOOLS

You know how to pick the perfect mountain to shred, but you may not know what to look for in a great ski school. The following tips will help you know what to look for.

  1. Low student/instructor ratio. 1:4 is ideal for 4-6 year olds, and 1:6 for older kids.
  2. Instructors certified through the Professional Ski Instructors Association of America www.psia-w.org
  3.  Seasoned instructors with experience working with young children
  4. Observe a lesson or part thereof if you can. The kids should be having fun, and practicing good technique. The instructors should be focused and engaged with the kids–not socializing with other instructors.

More and more ski resorts are utilitzing Magnestick Chairlift safety to keep kids secured to chair lifts with a magnet. The vest also offers protection from spinal injuries in the event of a spill will skiing. www.magnestick.net Look for resorts with Flaik GPS tracking technology as well. This unit will track every run you do throughout the day as well as serve as a safety mechanism in case your child gets separated from you or the ski school. www.flaik.com
