She wrote Babes in Woods: Hiking, Camping and Boating with Babies & Young Children and shares her experience of making the most of outdoor activities with children in Alaska. Babes in the Woods:  Hiking & Backpacking in the Alaska Backcountry with Young Children

Learn how to stay safe, sane, dry, and relatively bug free on the trails of Alaska’s backcountry. Learn where to go, what to bring, and how long to stay. Pre-registration is required.  Fee:  $35/couple

Babes in the Snow

This class covers where to hike and play, how to dress, and demonstrates how to make your own pulk sled. Babes in the Snow will assist parents of infants and toddlers with the tools and confidence they need to embrace the winter outdoors with their little ones. Pre-registration is required.  Fee $35/couple

Babes on the Water

You don’t have to abandon water sports just because you have a baby with you!  But you do have to adapt the trip.  Babes on the water covers the trip planning necessary to have a safe water trip with your baby or young child on a canoe, kayak or raft.  The class also covers coastal camping and the art of base camping.  Pre-registration is required.  Fee is covered by the lecture series fee at the Alaska Sea Kayaking Symposium.
